Bury St Edmunds Art Gallery

The first floor of the Grade 1 listed Market Cross was opened as a gallery in November 1972. The current stone incarnation of the building was designed by Robert Adam as a theatre and its most recent refurbishment was completed in 2006.

The Gallery aims to serve a local audience in Suffolk with a varied experience of the contemporary visual arts. It exhibits the best fine art and craft from national and international artists and, in particular, promotes artists working in the East of England.

Visitors are welcome to the building, as part of a tour or on their own. Admission is free.
