Bury St Edmunds has a long history of Christian worship beginning in the days of the great Abbey Church, or possibly earlier!
This town walk will look at both architecture and styles of worship around the town – from the mighty ‘Thunderbirds’ spire of St John’s to the tiny chapel of the Plymouth Brethren tucked away in a side-street – as well as the better known edifices on Crown Street, of course.
Bury Churches is on Tuesday, 8 October. It starts at 2pm on Angel Hill, opposite the Abbey Gate (what3words///doubt.display.trail), and last 90 minutes.
It is in English and is suitable for all ages and abilities. Please let us know beforehand if you have any special access requirements. We regret that we cannot accept dogs (apart from assistance dogs) on our tours.
Adults £10.00, U-18s £5, U-5s free. Tickets may be booked online in advance or simply turn up on the day.
